Brainstorming and Idea Development

The main idea we are toying with is the concept of anonymity on the internet and what it means to be nameless in cyberspace. Nameless doesn't mean identity-less, but instead it gives people the freedom to possess an illusive identity to express their ideas freely, without fear of consequence. There are many questions posed concerning this topic such as: how is anonymity used on the internet? How does an internet user achieve anonymity? To what extent is an internet user anonymous? Are there laws regulating online anonymity? The use of pseudonymity is particularly interesting and blurs this concept together. This develops in the sense that an online user who possess and communicates under a pseudonym - is not entirely anonymous but still remains at large in the wider forum space. This poses questions about our civil freedoms and in particular our freedom of speech. Do people have to adopt an alter ego in order to convey their ideas without fear of persecution or punishment?

This is where we are at so far - stay tuned, we've got alot of work and further brainstorming ahead of us.
